Vincenzo, Matilde, Allison and Matteo live in the same provincial town and try to move forward one step at a time without getting overwhelmed by their problems.

Vincenzo, is a 45-year-old former alcoholic who runs a gas station. Devoured by guilt over disintegrating his family over alcohol, he tries to resist the bottle and get through the day. He rounds up his income by illegally trading some parcels he knows practically nothing about.

Matilde is a few years younger than Vincenzo and an 8-year-old son who has always grown up alone. A life full of excesses marked her face, but not her determination. In fact, Matilde tries, in every way, to recover the money necessary to make her son live in dignity. This, however, leads her to take paths that are not dignified for her and, as always, she is forced to fight with life trying not to end up on the mat.

Allison, on the other hand, is 17 and lives in a community for minors after reporting her father for abuse. Behind a tough and tough attitude hides a scared and insecure girl. She doesn't like rules and, to avoid really thinking about what to do with her life, she escapes by constantly getting into trouble with her boyfriend.

Matteo, 38, is an educator and works in the community where Allison lives. He loves his job and invests all of himself but, many times, he gets too involved and this leads him to quarrel with his partner. Matteo cares a lot about Allison and wants to help her build a future.

In the space of a single day, where everything seems to go by without ever stopping to observe what really happens, the lives of Vincenzo, Matilde, Allison and Matteo meet and are destined to change forever.
